JOCELYN BEATTY: Jocelyn Beatty studied art at Edinboro University before working as an architectural draftsman. She began pursuing a full time career in painting over two decades ago and has taught at the Hoyt Center for more than 20 years. She is the first woman to take 1st place in the PA Game Commission’s Duck Stamp contest.

KATE BURKE: Graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, Kate Burke has worked in public art for over 25 years. As both a painter and relief carver, her works can be found in public, private, and corporate collections in Minneapolis, Boston, and beyond.

DIANNA BOAK: Dianna Boak is a retired small business proprietor (40 years apparel design). She studied piano and voice under scholarship at Boston Conservatory of Music. An avid artist, she had her own gallery in Southern California. She has been a member of the U.S. Chess Federation and played rated chess for two decades, participating in many chess clubs. She has also encouraged and sponsored youth to become active in club and tournament competition.

MICHAEL CAMERA: A Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from Slippery Rock University, Michael has exhibited his works at such venues as the AABC in Butler and the Bottle Brush Gallery in Harmony, PA. He specializes in a classical approach to the human figure in a variety of mediums.

RICHARD DIGIA: Richard DiGia has his degrees from Westminster College and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and brings 27 years of experience in advertising and design. He is adjunct professor at Geneva College and has taught at Westminster College and the Butler Institute of American Art.

BRIAN HARTMAN: Brian Hartman studied wines in California and at the George Dubeuf in France.  He is founder of the Wine Society at the Allegheny Country Club and Organizer of numerous wine festivals.  He is a representative for Majestic Wines.

NANCY HAWKINS: Nancy Hawkins studied at Fort Wayne Art Institute before receiving her BFA in painting and drawing from Kent State University. She is an active exhibitor and member of the Ohio Plein Air Society.

MARIANNE HILKE: Marianne’s art education includes the Ivy School of Art and the Rhode Island School of Photography, as well as instruction while in Rome, Italy. She has worked in the graphic arts field for many years and instituted a restoration department for a Southern California photography company. She established an art department for a private school in N. Palm Springs, CA, along with an adult educational program.

SUSAN JACOBS: Susan is a retired art elementary educator continuing a career as an artist, art teacher and entreprenuer. Sole proprietor of Blissful Biscuits, she continues to work as an adjunct instructor at Ashland University and the MidWestern Intermediate Unit IV’s continuing education programs. She holds a BS in Art Education and a Master Teacher Secondary Art degree with a concentration in painting from Youngstown State University.

DIANNE KOZYRO: Dianne Kozyro received her Bachelor of Music from the D’Angelo School of Music at Mercyhurst College. A soprano, she has received numerous awards including the “Semper Fidelis” Award for Excellence in Voice, and the Medal of Excellence in Music from Venango Christian High School.  In 1999, Dianne was selected as an adjudicator of the PA Federation of Music Clubs Competion and the Junior Festival for piano.

AMY JO LABI-CARANDO: Amy Jo Labi-Carando has practiced Mindfulness Meditation for 8 years. She assists a mindfulness meditation group in Slippery Rock and is a member of the Laughing Rivers Sangha in Squirrel Hill. She received her Five Mindfulness Training Certificate from zen master Thich Nhat Hanh in 2007.

DENISE MURPHY-GERBER: Denise Murphy-Gerber is a local stained glass artisan from New Wilmington, PA. Denise is an Associate Professor of Business at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. She specializes in the copper foil method of stained glass.

PAMELA PAGLEY: Pamela is currently a middle school art teacher at Mohawk Junior High School. She is a portrait artist with 24 years of experience. She received her B.F.A. in drawing from Slippery Rock University and Academy of Art College in San Francisco, California, an art education certification from Westminster College, and a Master’s equivalency from Drake University.

ALYSSA PESAVENTO: Alyssa Pesavento is a highly accomplished Harpist who received an MA from Kent State. She has taught extensively at universities and privately.  Her performances includes solos, festivals, and events.

KEN SCAVNICKY: Ken Scavnicky has been a professional dancer and dance instructor for over 40 years.  He toured with the Fred Astaire Ballroom Dancers globally for 22 years.

NANCY SONTICH-LENHART: Nancy Lenhart received a BA in Art from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.  She continued her studies at Youngstown State University working as a studio assistant in the ceramics department. She owns a private studio in Struthers, OH and has been teaching ceramics at the Hoyt for over twenty years.

KATHRYN SMITH: Kathryn is a graduate of Lincoln Park Performing Arts School and a student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She is a talented young artist in illustration, graphic design, animation, and other fields. She has recently begun exhibition work as well as teaching and is currently a teaching assistant at the Hoyt.

RACHEL DEAN THOMAS: With a professional background in nursing, Rachel is an experienced yoga and hoop dance instructor who is focused on total wellness. She has taught at Four Corners Fitness, Natural Integral Wellness Partnership, and the Hoyt.

DR. FRANK TRECASSE; Dr. Trecasse holds a BA in Spanish and Italian from YSA, an MA in Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Phd in Spanish and Italian from the University of Pittsburgh. He was named Professor Emeritus at Slippery Rock University after more than 30 years of service. His specialties are Medieval and Renaissance Italian Literature, 19th and 20th Century Italian Literature, and Spanish Golden Age literature.
