Arts & Education at the Hoyt invites the public to join them for a reception on Thursday, October 27 from 5-7 p.m. celebrating the annual Very Special Arts exhibition now on display at The Confluence in downtown New Castle.
Since 1989, Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV’s Very Special Arts has celebrated the abilities of special needs students through this annual art exhibit. Founded on the belief that the arts are a universal language, this regional exhibit brings together students, teachers, families and the general public to celebrate diversity.
Inspired by the international nonprofit bearing the same name, Very Special Arts was designed to give special needs people the opportunity to develop and showcase their creative abilities. With over 1,000 students participating this year, this exhibit represents just a portion of the event hosted by the Mid-Western Intermediate Unit IV in Grove City each year.
