Digital Media for Teens

Teens, ages 13-18, can earn digital badges while exploring the art of animation and film with artist-in-residence, Jude Shingle. Each two week block meets Tuesday-Thursday, 3-5:30 pm, in the Hoyt's Digital Media Lab.

Doors Open at 3:00 for snacks, labwork and homework. Instruction begins at 4 pm. Classes are limited to 12 students, so register early!

2D Computer Animation, March 6-15, $25
Create a short animation learning the basics of computer animation and motion tweening.

Motion Capture Animation, March 20-29, $25
Create a puppet (character) that will follow the movements of your body as well as fun animations to use animated films or YouTube videos.

Artist-in-Residence: Jude Shingle


Jude Shingle is an award winning arts educator, filmmaker, and illustrator living in Erie, PA. His many artistic interests are guided by his strong ability to tell stories and his passion for empowering youth to create and inspire. He currently works with the Erie Art Museum and Box of Light Studios, and is a rostered artist with the PA Council on the Arts and Early Learning Fellow with the Fred Rogers Center. Jude also co-teaches residencies in STEAM with artist Annie Schmitt through their business, Awesome Dinosaur.
