Counseling Skills: New Challenges for Parents and Teachers

8 Tuesdays: September 12 – October 31, 6:00 – 7:30 pm (Hoyt)
This course will offer an overview of the challenges facing American youth and how adults can better address new and old issues, such as drug usage, sexual activity, learning and emotional disorders, and bullying. Students will be able to identify and strategise solutions to bullying behaviors, as well as have a basic understanding of how to identify and interact with young people who are afflicted with learning and emotional disorders. They will also learn how drug abuse is connected to other issues. Capacity:  20 students.  Minimum:  5 students.  Ages 16+.  Non-members:  $105/Members:  $85.
