Arts & Education at the Hoyt is kicking off a brand new year of after-school activities designed to promote a new generation of artists, innovators and problem solvers! Innovative lessons inspire students to create the world they imagine with paint, clay, cardboard and more while participating in global design competitions! Your child's accomplishments will be shared online on their Facebook Page.
Free to Lawrence County Students in grades 3-6.
Classes meet Tuesdays - Thursdays, 4-5:30.
Doors open at 3:00 for homework & snacks.
Pre-registration is required.
Block I: Wet & Wonderful (September 18-27)
Experiment with watercolors, dyes, crayons and other mediums to create a variety of landscapes inspired by our current exhibit.
Block 2: Gone to the Birds! (October 2-11)
Use clay, stone, drift wood and other natural materials to replicate birds, animals and other critters in 2D & 3D.
Block 3: Frights & Lights (October 16-25)
Explore what goes bump in the night with projects ranging from LED canvases and luminaries to glow in the dark monsters.
Block 4: Native Arts (October 30-November 15)
Celebrate Native American Heritage month by crafting, coiling, and weaving masks, baskets an jewelry from early Meso & Native American cultures.
